Sometimes Daddies go to work (part two)
Gabe: Drive faster. I don’t want Mommy to get home and we’re not there!
Ian: I don’t think Mommy will be home, sweetheart. Mommy will be home later.
Gabe: But, why?
Ian: She’s at work, sweetheart.
Gabe: Why is she at work?
Ian: Everyone has a job, and Mommy works at her office.
Gabe: Everyone has a job?
Ian: Yeah.
Gabe: What’s Auntie Robyn’s job?
Ian: She’s a teacher. She works at a school, like Mr. Thomas.
Gabe: What’s Nama’s job?
Ian: She works at a bank.
Gabe: What’s Papa’s job?
Ian: He works at a hospital.
Gabe: What’s Gogo’s job?
Ian: She’s a doctor.
Gabe: What’s Auntie D’one’s job?
Ian: She stays at home with Mackenzie, just like Daddy stays at home with Gabey.
Gabe: What’s Uncle Jeremy’s job?
Ian: He’s a lawyer, like Mommy.
Gabe: No. He can’t be a lawyer. He’s a Daddy, not a Mommy!
Ian: Heh heh. Both boys and girls can be lawyers, sweetheart.
Gabe: I don’t think so.
