Sometimes Mommies stay home (part one)

Ian: When we get home, it will be time for you to take a nap, okay?

Gabe: Okay.  But what will you do while I’m sleeping?

Ian: Well, … I’ll do chores and work on my computer.

Gabe: You can leave if you want.

Ian: What?   Sweetie, I’ll never leave while you’re sleeping.

Gabe: Why not?  I’ll be sleeping?

Ian: Well.  I want to make sure to be there when you wake up.

Gabe: That’s okay.  I’ll wait for you to come back.

Ian: Sweetheart.   That’s very sweet.   But, I want to be there in case you wake up and need something.   If you have to go potty.  Or if you get hurt.   That’s my job.

Gabe: That’s your job?

Ian: Sure.  Mommy goes to work, and I stay home with Gabey.

Gabe: If you were a Mommy you could go to work, and if Mommy was a Daddy, she could stay home with Gabey!

Ian: LOL.   You know, sweetie, sometimes the Mommy stays home and the Daddy goes to work.

Gabe: What??

Ian: LOL.   Yeah.   Like Mackenzie, right?   Auntie D’one stays home with Mackenzie, and Uncle Jeremy goes to work like Mommy does.
