Supertrooper
Last week Gabe got his first shot in a very long time. Well… 6 months… it seems like a long time ago. My mom has been urging us to get the flu vaccine this year. (Everyone should take note: my mom, whose new title is Chief of Science at the CDC, has been especially urging us to get the flu vaccine this year. It’s going to be a bad year for the flu.) So, I took Gabey to the local Walgreen’s and we did it together. I warned him about it all week, and I made sure to get the shot before him, in the same visit.
Well, he was a phenomenal little boy. He didn’t cry — at all. He flinched a bit. And then he said, “Ow!” and rubbed his arm. The nurse said that he was the bravest 3-year-0ld he’d ever seen.
After some hugs and some rewards, I caught myself thinking that when we have a second kid, it’s going to be hard to resist saying, “Why can’t you be like your brother?”

I’m convinced you’ll find yourself saying “Wow, we sure did end up with two amazing children!!!”
Love to all, Nama
