Gabe: Mommy, don’t turn off the light.
Steph: You are trying to relax and take a nap. Those are the rules.
Gabe: But, I want you to turn the light on!
Steph: No, that’s the rule. You can’t change the rules.
Gabe: I can change the rules.
Steph: You can’t change the rules. You don’t have the power to change the rules.
Gabe: I have the power the change the rules. I have super powers! I changed the rule!
Steph: …
Steph: No, you can’t. <walks out, turns off the light>

I never thought of being a parent as the arch nemesis of super power charged children.
