This past weekend we took our first family trip to Boulder, Co. to celebrate Yia yia’s 80th birthday. We got to visit many of the Wagner family, several of whom Gabe was meeting for the first time. We stayed at Aunt Kathy’s house, which we got to see for the first time. Gabe went apple picking in Uncle Dave’s backyard with all the guys while most of the ladies took yia yia to the yarn store.

On Saturday night we went out for the party! We had a very nice dinner at a restaurant just a little ways from the house. Gabe wore his fancy tie and sweater vest – looking mighty dashing. We all had a nice time. We got to see the entire CA Wagner clan – Steve, Mary Jo, Scott and Mark. We also saw Kathy, Sarah and Nathan and the whole Dave clan…and of course, Yia yia and Papa. Turns out that everyone who was missing was at a wedding of some sort! The night went quite smashingly, except that Mark’s mohawk scared Gabe. He had to bury his face in Uncle Steve’s shoulder until the mohawk hair was gone.

Then on Sunday morning, Kathy, Yia yia and Papa treated use to a very nice brunch. We spent the rest of the day relaxing until we all dispersed for the airport or home. We have lots of pictures, if you’d like to see.

Gabe, you do look so dashing. Has your mommy or daddy entered you in the Gap kids casting call? They should because you would definitely win.

Thanks for posting all of the pics, we’re bummed to have missed it but so happy you had a good time!

We considered it, but decided that it wasn’t worth it to thrust him into showbiz — at least until he’s old enough to make that choice himself. It’s weird, I think we didn’t want to do it *because* we believe he’d be successful. Neither of us are interested in being those media parents; again, unless he shows an interest.
